LA day today!!

Well, I was in surgical rota today for orientation purposes before I will have my full surgical rota. The same time, it was also to get my competency forms signed, as I wasn't fully through for my Local anaesthetics bit of the module. Now, everything is in place. I am super dooper happy, very happy that I could reach the sky!

The best was, I got the competency paper signed which was not easily done. My mates had tried it but failed to get a lecturer to sign it. With me, it was the other way round, I was being offered! I also got this written "Excellent, clear and well explained calculations. Excellent techniques on the administration and handling, WELL DONE!"

On top of that, I also got my 1st out of 6 signatures that I need to make me qualified for LA certification. This normally happens only in Year 3. None of my colleagues, except Wendy and I got this!!! hehe. But perhaps, the rest of the group who will be going soon will get it, I don't know.

Basically right now, I am tired after the long standing, running around the hospital (and at most of the time, barefooted). Now I think I'm developing blisters as the clogs I wore was the wood sole! Sakit!!!!

I leave you to some pictures. Not easy to get the camera into the theatre. I don't know why I had both hand rested on my waist on both occasions?

It was like summer!!

Had my surfers shorts, and polo shirt on whilst waiting for the prospective fellow housemates to arrive. I knew all of them before hand. It was all wicked!!

Beautiful day indeed, and there were loads of people in town, similarly in their summer wear. The sounds of guitar played in town made the scenery even better. Got my groceries, since it's a beautiful day, I decided not to have anything heavy. For a change, made myself the simplest lunch ever, Cheese sandwich! ahhaha

Oh well, need to carry on with my coursework.

Something behind this face of mine.

About the ESFP

Click to view my Personality Profile page

ESFPs are cooperative, "here and now" people-persons that enjoy excitement and love new adventures. Because of their highly social nature, they are especially lively when they are the center of attention and hate being alone. ESFPs have a practical side that allows them to finish work efficiently and are often good problem solvers.

For the ESFP, the entire world is a stage. They love to be the center of attention and perform for people. They're constantly putting on a show for others to entertain them and make them happy. They enjoy stimulating other people's senses, and are extremely good at it. They would love nothing more than for life to be a continual party, in which they play the role of the fun-loving host.

Introducing my Mr Bone - my learning buddy!

I have always wanted to get this to ease my learning. It arrived today, whilst I was busy frying my cucur udang. I am happy, indeed it helped me to understand theories better, and it even helped me to integrate the understanding into my essays. Especially on Biomechanics of the lower limb.

On another note, imagine what would happen if I had this in my carry on suitcase whilst travelling on the plane?? Will I be stopped??

Splintin, Blushing and Macaroni

Today, we did not have usual caseload. All patients were cancelled as lecturers couldn't make it to clinic. They were having an important meeting to nominate the next Head of School. However, 2 visiting lecturers willingly to show us how to do splinting. It's a stretching device worn at night to stretch the calcaneal tendon in patients who are having plantar fasciitis resulted from ankle equinus.

Amanda was showing the splinting, and suddenly Shakira came around. Everyone was pointing at me, and the secret revealed to a lecturer!!! Damnnit! Shakira is a teaching staff, and she's very HOT! And suddenly the story broke, and I blushed. Arrrgh! ahaha But what the heck. Now I don't know how to face any of the lecturers if the news spreaded around, which I bet is going to be the case. They couldn't stop teasing as a result. Anyhow, I got my splinting device done, and I'm happy.

Here's Tristan struggling to cut the hard splint device. Not an easy thing to do...

After the session, went for a quick grocery shopping and made myself a batch of baked macaroni. Here's the result. Divided it into 4 containers. eheh

The re-birth of my steel pen.

About last month that I lost my lucky pen, which I had gone through together through good and bad times. I simply couldn't "live properly" without it. It's just different. So I looked around online, WHSmith and every stationer I could to see if they had it. Too bad, NO.

Last week, went online on eBay US, saw the similar pen. Finally I got it's real name. Parker Vector it is called. Searched for it and typed in keywords like "Parker, Vector, Ballpoint, UK".

WHSmith was in the result and it costed around £15!!!!! So I thought, there should be a cheaper one. It costs almost $30 anyway back home. So I finally found one on eBay UK. It's £6 including taxes!! Yay!!!!!! So, I bought it, and I got it today. It's replaced, but nothing beats what you had before. In the time of the pen's absence, I had to use the black one which was a gift. It gets scratched easily, that's why I hesitated to use it. But now, I am content.

Here it is, posing for the first time.... 5mins from unwrapping

I got my new TOY - Canon Powershot G9

Well, after a week of pain living without a camera, came this new toy of mine. A Canon Powershot G9!!! I'm loving it to the bits!!!

My previous camera, a Nikon 7600 had gone kaput, after lens error during the heavy snow fall.

Snowing in April??!?!?

Well yes!

I was annoyed by the gushing sounds that came through my windows. Being a little "blurred" from bed, I drew the curtain and to my surprise, it was snowing heavily (and still is as I type this entry). Looked at the weather forecast, indeed it does show "predominantly heavy snow" until 7pm tonight.

It was nice, sunny and warm last week, now? It's like I slept in Spring England, and woke up in Switzerland the next day! Amazing!!!!!!

Initially I decided to go to town just for a walk and maybe get some groceries. But having all these, no thanks. I'd rather be in bed, or watch the telly with my hot tea! hehhe

Herne Bay Placement.

Well, it's another weekend now. Can't believe 1 week has gone and that means little time left before it's end of year!! I better pull up my socks and get started with work. Perhaps, literature review to start with.

Made myself a lazy weekend breakfast today. Therese gave me fresh homegrown mushrooms from her garden yesterday, so I made them into stir fried mushrooms. It tasted perfect!!!!

The placement at Herne Bay, what about it? Well it's in Kent, 2 hours away from Eastbourne. Although, we took a longer time as we took few wrong turns. One significant one was when we ended up at International Terminal at Ashford. Gosh, we could have ended up in France!!!!

But we made it in the end. However, there was no woo factor to this placement compared to the one in Brighton. Maybe partly the machines in the lab were not fully functional as they were doing this refurbishment fitting in 120k pounds worth of orthotics making machine. And also, we were exhausted from the long journey.

Well, a shot of remembrance won't do harm, will it? This was taken before we made our long way home.
